ABOUT KERI COHEN
I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) and a Board Certified Diplomate (BCD) in Clinical Social Work. I have worked in a wide range of settings since 1991, mostly in outpatient therapy, collaborating closely with psychiatrists and other mental health professionals. In 2013, I opened my own practice.
I am a graduate of the University of Pennsylvania School of Social Policy and Practice where I earned a Master's degree in Clinical Social Work.
After graduate school I enrolled in a two-year post master's program, earning a certificate in child and adolescent therapy from Bryn Mawr Graduate School of Social Work.
In 2019, I completed the William Alanson White Institute Online Intensive Psychoanalytic Psychotherapy Program, an international program. www.wawhite.org
My focus is in helping adults, children, teens and families through difficult times. I try to help people reach a deeper understanding of their inner emotional life so they are better able to navigate the next set of challenges they may face.
The relationship one has with oneself often mirrors the relationship one has with others. The better able one can stay open to one's inner life, the more likely it is one will remain open to another's opinion, practice or struggle.
I have written and presented papers locally, nationally and internationally. I have a deep interest in psychoanalysis and am a member of a regional psychoanalytic study group. I am also a moderator of an online international psychoanalytic study group that began in 2015.
